Anthroposophic Remedies

Anthroposophic medicines are designed to stimulate the patient’s power of self healing. In this way, they complement conventional medicine, which concentrates largely on destroying external agents of disease, suppressing processes which are overactive and replacing missing substances (such as hormones, calcium, etc.).  By contrast, anthroposophic medicines enable the human organism to overcome diseases through its own resources. Emphasis is placed on restoring the balance of bodily functions and strengthening the individual as a whole. Mineral, plant and animal raw materials are used in the production of these medicines. While conventional medicine occasionally uses substances from nature, it nearly always employs synthetic and chemical substances. Anthroposophic medicines are directed less at suppressing illness and more at strengthening and harmonizing one’s ability to heal oneself.
